Man sought in theft of collectible coins, bank notes worth $500K

Peel police are trying to identify a man accused of stealing $500,000 worth of rare collectible coins and bank notes.

In late September, the victim, a 68-year-old man from B.C., parked his car in a hotel parking lot near Edwards Boulevard and Derry Road in Mississauga.

It’s alleged a man got into the car and stole two bags with the coins and bills inside.

The suspect has an olive complexion and a heavy build. He’s 35 to 45 years old and balding.

Police have released security camera footage from the day of the theft and are hoping someone can help identify the man.
