Peel police recover stolen 1992 Blue Jays World Series ring

Peel police have recovered an authentic 1992 Toronto Blue Jays World Series Championship ring, along with a Toronto Blue Jays Anniversary ring, stolen from a Mississauga residence 23 years ago.

According to police, on April 13, 1994 the two rings, along with other items belonging to a former Blue Jays executive, were stolen from a home in the Mississauga Road and Highway 403 area.

Last Wednesday, police said they received a tip that the stolen items were being sold online. Upon further investigation, the rings were recovered and police said they have been returned to the rightful owner.

News of the investigation first came out on social media when police tweeted the Blue Jays asking someone to contact their office regarding an investigation. The tweet has since been deleted.

In 1992 the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Atlanta Braves four games to two, in the team’s first ever World Series win. They would go on to win their second World Series title the next year when Joe Carter hit a game-winning three-run home run against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 6.
