Police have arrested and charged a 28-year-old woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in North York last week.

Erin Wright was publicly named as the owner of the suspect vehicle that struck and killed a woman on Oct. 4, but an arrest was not made in the investigation until Saturday afternoon.

Wright’s grey 2014 Nissan Rogue jumped the curb and hit a 63-year-old woman who was walking on the sidewalk on York Mills Road near Don Mills, just after 11 p.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police found Wright’s car at a local auto repair shop two days later. The vehicle had damage to the right front headlight, fog light area, and right side fender areas.

Wright was allegedly not cooperating with police in the investigation and refused to disclose who was driving the vehicle at the time of the collision.

She was charged with several charges including dangerous operation causing death, failure to remain at the scene of a collision causing death and obstructing police.

She appeared in court on Sunday.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area on Oct. 4 or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
