York regional police are searching for the driver who they believe fled the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in Vaughan that injured six people.
The crash involving four vehicles happened on Highway 7, west of Pine Valley Drive, shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police believe a fifth vehicle was involved in the crash but left the area.
Eight people were in the four vehicles that remained at the scene, but only six were injured.
Police say a 25-year-old man in Toronto was trapped under one of the vehicles. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but is expected to survive.
Five other people were hurt, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
An infant or young child – one of two people not taken to hospital – received minor injuries.
Investigators are asking anyone who saw witnesses the crash or saw a vehicle leaving the area to contact them. They are also appealing for dashcam video from anyone who may have been driving in the area at that time.
