No arrests made after threats against 2 Toronto schools

Police are investigating threats made to two east-end Toronto schools this week.

On Friday, police said a person of interest had been taken into custody on domestic charges and was being questioned, but they have since said they have no one under arrest.

Students at Duke of Connaught Junior and Senior Public School, near Queen Street East and Greenwood Avenue, were under a hold-and-secure on Thursday and Friday, and Westwood Middle School was placed under a hold-and-secure on Friday.

The hold-and secures were lifted at both schools at the end of the day on Friday.

The move was a precaution to ensure students’ safety, police said.
