Man seriously injured in stabbing in Brampton

One man is in hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in Brampton.

Police were called to the Marigold Hotel on Queen Street East and Kennedy Road North around 11:30 p.m.

Peel Regional Police say there was an incident involving a number individuals who were attending a function at the hotel. They became involved in an altercation when a 23-year-old was stabbed outside the building.

Police say the suspect fled northbound on foot. He’s described as West Indian in his early 20s.

Police are appealing for any eyewitnesses to come forward.
