Police investigate a pair of incidents in Regent Park area

Police have one person in custody after two SUVs collided around midday at the corner of Dundas and River streets.

Police said they were called to two locations in the area between noon and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

While the details of what occurred are unclear at this time, a witness told CityNews a silver Subaru collided with a gold Honda around noon at Dundas and River Streets.

The Subaru was reportedly stolen by two suspects and before the crash happened, a woman who was sitting on top of the hood of the stolen vehicle, jumped off and suffered serious injuries. .

The driver sped off and crashed into the Honda which was carrying a family.

There is no information regarding injuries or the condition of those involved in the crash.

A few blocks west, police taped off an area outside Fire Station 325 near Arnold Avenue.

Police told CityNews that the scene is related to the earlier collision, but would not comment further.

Initially police said the Special Investigations Unit had been called in to take over the investigation but they later tweeted out that the SIU is no longer involved.
