Roads reopen near Yonge and Bloor after suspicious package investigation

Road have reopened near Yonge and Bloor streets after a suspicious package found in the area on Thursday morning was determined to pose no danger to the public.
The package on street level drew the attention of police, who closed a section of Bloor Street between Church and Yonge streets.
Despite an ominous police presence that included canine and bomb squad units, police tweeted that there was “no cause for alarm.”
A loud bang was heard in the Yonge and Bloor streets area at around 11:15 a.m. Police said it was a “controlled explosion” with no risk to public safety.
Police haven’t said what was in the package but say it was not dangerous.
Around 1 p.m. police cleared the scene and the area was reopened.
