Canada’s most notorious bank robber “the Vaulter” has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Jeffrey James Shuman, 55, pleaded guilty last month to seven counts of robbery with a firearm.
He’s also been ordered to pay more than $400,000 dollars in restitution.
Named after the way he jumps over the counter during the robberies, ‘The Vaulter’ had been connected to 21 bank robberies over a five-year period.
Authorities said the robber first struck in York Region north of Toronto in February 2010 and since then hit banks in Mississauga, Hamilton, Vaughan, Toronto and Ottawa, as well as some in Calgary.
Shuman was arrested in September 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland.
