By News Staff

A 71-year-old man was killed in a crash on Bloor Street West on Tuesday afternoon, Toronto police said.

A dump truck rear-ended the man’s motorcycle at Bloor and Jane streets around 3 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe both drivers were stopped in the left-turn lane, at a red light. The motorcyclist was in front. The driver of the dump truck hit the motorcyclist from behind, police said.

The intersection was closed for the investigation, but has since reopened. Police are asking any witnesses, and anyone who may have video, to come forward.
