An announcement due Friday on the brewing battle between Tim Hortons and the franchise group that is currently suing the coffee giant’s parent company has been pushed back until next week.
Sources told 680 NEWS the Great White North Franchisee Association is working on several statements due out next week.
Great White North is suing Restaurant Brands International (RBI) for $500 million, alleging the Tim Hortons and Burger King parent has been collecting money from Tim Hortons franchisees — meant to go into an advertising fund — and using it to line its own coffers.
Restaurant Brands previously said it vehemently disagrees with and denies all of the allegations.
RBI stock rose $0.41 to $82.41 on Friday. It’s up 51 per cent over the past 12 months.
