TTC passes now available on Presto cards

By News Staff

Presto users can now load a TTC monthly pass onto their cards.

The notice was posted on the TTC and Presto websites.

June passes can be purchased online at the Presto website and added to a limited number of existing Presto cards. The June pass costs $146.25 for an adult and $116.75 for a senior. Riders also need a Presto card, which costs $6.

The TTC cautioned that this option isn’t for everyone: “While all TTC buses and streetcars have PRESTO, not every subway station entrance has it. If the entrance you regularly use does not have PRESTO, you may want to wait until it is available before you purchase a PRESTO card and load a TTC Monthly Pass,” the TTC said.

Riders will need to tap their Presto card, instead of showing it to a person or or swiping it at a turnstile.

The TTC said that Metropasses will still be available for sale and use throughout 2017 and 2018, but will be phased out after that.

“Tickets, tokens and TTC passes will be available for purchase and use throughout 2017 and 2018. We will stop selling them before we stop accepting them,” the TTC said.
