Hoax leads to charges for teen who allegedly planned gunfight at Scarborough Town Centre

A teenage boy is facing charges after a social media hoax that saw him allegedly try to organize a gun fight at Scarborough Town Centre.
Police say the suspect, 17, invited people online to engage in a shootout in the Walmart parking lot on Wednesday at 6 p.m., with a $10,000 reward offered to the winner.
The teen was arrested and is facing charges of mischief interfere with property and being a common nuisance.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
