By News Staff

A 70-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Markham.

However, York regional police told CityNews they aren’t sure if she died from a medical incident before the crash, or during the crash itself.

The collision happened at Normandale Road and 16th Avenue, near Kennedy Road, around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. The other driver, a 53-year-old Markham man, had minor injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, police said.
