Police release security camera video of stink bomb suspects

By News Staff

Toronto police have released security camera video in connection with an ongoing mischief investigation.

On April 7, subway service was temporarily suspended around 4:30 p.m. on the Yonge-University line due to reports of a strong sulfur like smell. The odour triggered an evacuation at Museum station.

A full emergency response attended the scene including police, paramedics and Toronto Fire’s hazardous materials unit.

Police said the smell was allegedly caused by a novelty stink bomb thrown into a train at St.George subway station. They released photos of two suspects who were reportedly seen on the southbound platform shortly before the stench was detected.

The suspect in the video is described as 22-26 years old, 5-foot-seven to 5-foot-nine with an average build, long wavy brown hair and a thin beard.

He was wearing all black clothing and a black toque at the time of the incident and carrying a large black knapsack with a large silver padlock on the back.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
