Pedestrian struck and killed by streetcar in Chinatown

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a streetcar in Chinatown on Friday night.
Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Sullivan Street around 6 p.m. where they discovered someone trapped under the streetcar. They were later pronounced dead at the scene.
No word yet on the age of the victim or whether it was a male or female.
Streetcar service in the area was suspended for more than five hours as police completed their investigation.
