Whitby woman allegedly punches cop in face during impaired driving investigation

A Whitby woman is facing several charges, including assault, after she allegedly punched a Durham Regional police officer in the face during an impaired driving investigation on Friday.
At around 6:30 p.m. police responded to a call about a possible drunk driver. An officer spotted the vehicle parked at a home near Brock Street North in Whitby and located the suspect.
While talking to the suspect she allegedly threw a punch, striking an officer in the face.
Shana Butkovic, 42, was arrested and has been charged with impaired operation, fail to provide breath sample and assault police.
She was released on a promise to appear in court.
