Fire leaves up to 75 people homeless in Ottawa

A four-alarm fire in Ottawa has forced 32 families out of their homes.

The Ottawa fire department says the fire started around 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in a row house complex attached by two garages in Nepean.

There were no reports of serious injuries.

Ottawa fire department says 42 units were affected, leaving between 60 to 75 people displaced.

Cause of the fire is not yet known but damage is estimated at more than $3-million.

Ottawa Fire says it received more than a dozen calls when flames and black smoke first appeared in the area.
