Burlington Fire crews have tamed a raging blaze that sent plumes of black smoke onto the QEW near Burloak Drive on Friday afternoon.
Police tell CityNews roofing work was being done on the building when the fire broke out.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says officials were forced to shut down a ramp to the highway due to the smoke blowing across the QEW.
Several CityNews and 680 NEWS viewers have submitted photos and video showing huge clouds of smoke emanating from the building on North Service Road.
The building has been evacuated and there’s no word on injuries.
