Male body pulled from water in a ravine in city’s west end

Police are investigating after the body of a man was recovered from a ravine in the city’s west end.

Police, fire and paramedics were called to the Islington Avenue and Dixon Road area shortly after 3:30 p.m. Saturday after a passerby spotted the lifeless body in the waters of Humber Creek.

Paramedics say the man, believed to be between 50 and 60 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are not yet known.

Police are also investigating the discovery of another body, found at the shore near the Humber Yacht Club on Friday evening.

Officers were called to the scene after a passerby noticed the body. It’s not clear yet if it is a male or female or the circumstances as to how the body ended up there.
