Love finds two-legged puppy ‘Cupid’ who was left in trash to die

By News staff

A very special little puppy has stolen hearts across the GTA.

Cupid, who was born without front legs, was found in a garbage bag in a dumpster behind a building in Toronto last week.

The Dog Rescuers Inc., which is based in Oakville, took him in.

“This poor little guy at such a young age had already been through a lot, having been found tied in a bag, discarded like garbage behind a building,” the rescue group wrote on its Facebook page on Monday.

“Not only had this little guy been left as trash, to die, he also has a birth defect where he is missing his front two legs.”

They think he’s seven weeks old and is a Great Pyrenees-cross.

He’s been in the care of a vet for the past few days and will be fitted for his new front legs this week. The group is asking for donations to help cover the cost.

“This little guy is an absolute love with the most adorable personality and a heart-shaped nose. The angels who facilitated him coming into our care named him Cupid,” the group said.

Cupid will be place for adoption once he becomes more mobile.
