Mississauga teen at centre of Amber Alert was never abducted: police

By News Staff

A 15-year-old Mississauga girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert earlier this week was never abducted, Peel police said Thursday.

In Ontario, Amber Alerts can be issued when police believe that a child has been abducted. In other provinces, the abduction must be confirmed.

At the time, a witness told police they saw two men force the 15-year-old girl into a car on Sunday.

The teen was found in good health on Monday.

The investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
