Man shot in the neck as nephew, 3, sits in back seat of car

By News Staff

A man is in hospital after he was shot in the neck as his three-year-old nephew sat in the back seat of his car.

The boy was unharmed but taken to hospital as a precaution. The man is in stable condition.

The car was also involved in a crash. However, it’s not clear if the shooting or the crash happened first.

Two vehicles collided at Kipling Avenue and Henley Crescent just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, bringing down a light pole.

Ten minutes later, officers found the driver of one of the vehicles suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed him to hospital.

Kipling was closed in both directions from West Humber Boulevard  to John Garland Boulevard for the investigation. The lanes have since reopened.

Police are still looking for the suspect or suspects. It’s not yet known where the shooting took place.
