Accused in fatal PATH stabbing will proceed straight to trial

The woman accused of first-degree murder in an unprovoked stabbing at a Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart will proceed straight to trial.

Rohinie Bisesar, 40, was in Superior Court on Monday as the Crown elected to bypass a preliminary inquiry.

Bisesar is accused of stabbing 28-year-old Rosemarie Junor (pictured below) at a Shoppers Drug Mart in the PATH system on Dec. 11, 2015.

When she arrived in court on Monday, Bisesar appeared to have four large healing abrasions covering both sides of her face. It’s not yet clear how she suffered the injuries.

The accused addressed the judge on Monday morning, smiling slightly and saying that her case “is a matter of national security.”

Since her arrest, Bisesar has been hospitalized for mental health issues.

She has consistently told the court that a device has been implanted in her body that controls her actions.

She was found fit to stand trial and will be back before a judge on Jan. 30.
