By News staff

Residents have been forced from their homes after a nearby two-alarm house fire near Stanley Park.

Firefighters were called to a three-storey townhouse on Stafford Street, near King Street and Strachan Avenue, around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

Toronto Fire Capt. Michael Westwood told 680 NEWS the fire was found in the walls on the first and second floors, so they had opened up the walls.

Smoke also billowed from the rear second-floor area, which Westwood said is where the kitchen is located.

Firefighters also had to cut a hole through the roof to vent out the heat and smoke.

No injuries have been reported.
