The organization that runs the Toronto International Film Festival selected it as one of 10 homegrown features in the lineup for the event.
“It’s Only the End of the World,” about a dying author who returns home, is Canada’s submission in the best foreign-language film category for the upcoming Oscars.
The other movies in the festival, which also has short films, are: “Angry Inuk,” “Hello Destroyer,” “Maliglutit (Searchers),” “Mean Dreams,” “Nelly,” “Old Stone,” “Those Who Make Revolution Halfway Only Dig Their Own Graves,” “Werewolf” and “Window Horses.”
The 16th annual festival runs Jan. 13 to 26 at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto.
TIFF will also tour select films to major cities across the country and offer onstage discussions with talent including Gordon Pinsent, Zacharias Kunuk and Director X.
Filmgoers in Toronto will be able to vote on the People’s Choice Award winner.
