Two Etobicoke shootings leave one person with life-threatening injuries

Police are investigating a pair of shootings that happened minutes apart from each other in Etobicoke.
Police say a person suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in a building in the area of Scarlett Road and Braeburn Avenue just after 9 p.m.
Paramedics say a man in his 40s with a chest wound was transported to a trauma centre, where his condition stabilized.
There hasn’t been any word on suspect descriptions.
A few kilometres west, police responding to another report of gunshots being fired near a park on Dixon Road and Wincott Drive. Witnesses report hearing at least five shots.
Police say a man in his 20s suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his hip. At least one man was seen running from the scene, however, there is no suspect information at this time.
Police could not say if the two shootings are connected.
