LIVE COVERAGE: Wheel-Trans, ride-sharing, up for debate at TTC meeting

By News Staff

Wheel-Trans and ride-sharing are up for debate at Wednesday’s TTC budget meeting.

There was also a protest outside Toronto City Hall, as riders staged a mock “race to the bottom” to protest $215 million in cuts to the transit commission.

Last week, the TTC said it had made some headway in the cuts by delaying the implementation of the Presto card and other measures. It will also draw $15.4 million from the reserve budget. However, it still has to find another $172.6 million in cuts.

CityNews reporter Nicole Martin and 680 NEWS reporters Kevin Misener and Jon Mace are following the budget meeting. Follow their tweets below.

Correction: TTC CEO Andy Byford will bring up both Presto and air-conditioning in his CEO’s report. They are not up for debate.
