A 15-year-old boy has died as a result of a stabbing near the Scarborough Town Centre on Friday night.

Police were called to the LRT bus terminal at Ellesmere and McCowan around 9:30 p.m. Witnesses tell CityNews the stabbing happened on the bus platform.

According to police there was a fight between two groups of people and when they arrived they found a teen boy with stab wounds.

The deceased has been identified as Kareem Deerr.

“That’s my baby, they took my baby away from me,” said Sandra Murdock, the boy’s mother. “I don’t see what in God’s green earth for somebody to kill him, nobody knows what happened.”

Murdock said that she hopes police catch the person responsible.

“He was only 15, didn’t live any life,” Murdock said.

Paramedics originally said an adult male suffered stab wounds to his upper torso. He was taken to a nearby trauma centre via an emergency run where he succumbed to his injuries.

There is no suspect descriptions at this time and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
