Man, 34, charged with stabbing two 16-year-old boys at Aurora home

York regional police have charged a 34-year-old man with attempted murder after two 16-year-old boys were stabbed inside an Aurora home.

Officers responded to the home on Briardale Road, near Yonge Street and Henderson Drive, just after 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said Monday that the suspect had broken into the home, and a struggle occurred. The boys were stabbed during that struggle.

Both boys were taken to hospital, Const. Andy Pattenden said Saturday. At the time, one of them had life-threatening injuries. The other boy had critical injuries but was in stable condition.

By Monday, both boys had improved, and were in stable condition, police said.

Christopher Barry, 34, of Aurora was arrested in Cobourg with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of breaking and entering. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Clarification: Earlier in the investigation, police believed two men had entered the home.
