Toronto police have closed off a section of Queens Quay at Lower Simcoe following reports of a suspicious package.
Police were called out to a building in the area just after 3 p.m. and they evacuated the building.
No other information has been released about what police have found. The bomb squad was also called to the scene.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., police indicated that there was a connection between this investigation and the murders of three people earlier Thursday in Scarborough using a crossbow.

The investigation also affected kids attending summer camp at Harbourfront Centre.
“All campers are safe and have been moved inside the building while Police assess the emergency situation outside,” read an email sent to parents and guardians.
Just before 4 p.m., the Centre notified parents that children would be allowed to leave and that police would be escorting buses out of the area.
The TTC is also turning back eastbound at Spadina loop due to the police investigation.
Shuttle buses in and out of Billy Bishop airport are also being affected by the road closures in the area.
