Star quarterback Ray to return to Argos after missing 3 games with knee sprain

By The Canadian Press

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts will have star quarterback Ricky Ray under centre when they host the B.C. Lions next week.

Head coach Scott Milanovich announced Wednesday that Ray will be back for the Aug. 31 game at BMO Field.

Ray sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during the team’s 30-17 victory against the Montreal Alouettes in Week 5, causing him to miss the last three games.

Toronto (4-4) has largely struggled with backup Logan Kilgore running the offence, losing its last two games at home by wide margins.

Prior to getting injured, Ray completed 73.7 per cent of his passes for 1,235 yards, nine touchdowns, and one interception, leading the Argos to a 3-2 record.
