Alcohol possible cause of Scarborough crash into traffic light

Toronto police are investigating whether alcohol played a factor in a Scarborough crash overnight.
Police say a vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed when it slammed into a traffic light and knocked it down on McCowan Road, north of Sheppard Avenue East just after 1 a.m.
The driver is in custody and police say charges are pending.
The area is open.
