Toronto police are investigating a shooting and a pistol-whipping that happened just minutes apart in North York.
Police say they received a report of multiple shots fired on Queens Drive in the Black Creek Drive and Lawrence Avenue area around 10:45 p.m.
When they arrived on the scene they discovered a man who had been shot in the back, arm and leg. The man, believed to be in his 20s, was transported to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.
By Friday morning, police said his condition had improved, and his injuries were no longer considered life-threatening.
There were no immediate suspect descriptions.
Meanwhile, around 11:30 p.m., a man was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery at a pizza shop near Eglinton Avenue and Trethewey Drive.
The victim got multiple stitches to head and is extremely traumatized, police said.
There are two suspects, both men in hoodies armed with a gun.
No arrests have been made.
The two locations are about seven kilometres from each other, but it’s not known if they are related.
Note: Earlier, police said the incident at the pizza shop was a stabbing. It was not.
