Police warn sex trade workers about man wanted for manslaughter

By News Staff

York Regional Police are warning sex workers in the Markham area to be on alert for a man wanted in the disappearance of Markham woman Annie Li.

Jiarui “Jerry” Tang is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for manslaughter in the disappearance of the 36-year-old Markham woman, who has not been seen since June 12.

Investigators believe Tang has attempted to seek the services of women working in the sex trade in the area and he poses a significant threat to these women. Anyone who encounters him in person or online are asked to use caution and contact police immediately.

Police also believe the 21-year-old Tang may be hiding out in the Chinatown area of Toronto.

Police say Li was last seen in the area of Denison Street and Markham Road. While no body has been found, investigators believe she is deceased.
