Man charged with vandalizing parking officer’s vehicle after receiving ticket

A Toronto man who received a parking ticket has been charged with mischief after allegedly damaging the enforcement officer’s vehicle.

Toronto police say it happened on Sunday just before 4 p.m. in the Cherry Street and Unwin Avenue area.

Police say the suspect angrily approached the officer after being issued a ticket for parking in a non-designated area.

While later patrolling the area on foot, police say the officer spotted the same man damaging the driver’s side mirror of his vehicle, causing about $1,000 worth of damage

The man fled, but was stopped a short distance away.

Abolfazl Nasri, 38, of Toronto, is facing one count of mischief under $5,000.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on September 13.
