Globe and Mail building evacuated due to bomb threat

By News Staff

The Globe and Mail building on Front Street was evacuated Friday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Police say a male caller phoned in the threat and the building was evacuated as a precaution shortly before 3 p.m. Employees were told to leave the building due to a “security related concern.”

CBRN Officers (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear) along with the K9 unit searched the building but turned up nothing suspicious or threat to public safety.

Police reopened Front Street from Portland to Spadina, and Wellington Street West westbound at Spadina some three hours later.
