Police in Halton Region are asking the public to keep an eye out for a senior that has been missing for almost a week.
Helen Robertson, 79, was last seen at her home on Millcroft Park Drive in Burlington at 12:45 p.m. on July 5.
Robertson has Alzheimer’s and often walks long distances. Police are concerned for her safety.
Investigators say mismatched running shoes believed to have been worn by Robertson were found on Friday, but police and volunteers have been unable to find her.
Robertson is white, five-feet two-inches tall, around 110 pounds, a slim build, has white collar-length hair and wears glasses. At the time she disappeared, police say she may have been wearing a red, long-sleeved collared shirt.
Last Friday, police ramped up their search for Robertson. There’s been an extensive ground search plus the police helicopter from Durham Region has been searching from the air.
People in the Alton Village, Millcroft, Orchard and Headon Forest are being asked to check their properties including their sheds.
