Teen charged in knifepoint robberies of food delivery and taxi drivers

By News Staff

A 15-year-old Mississauga boy has been charged after a number of food delivery and taxi drivers were robbed at knifepoint earlier this year.

Peel police said they were investigating four separate robberies in March and April as part of Project Thorne.

On Friday, they arrested the teen and charged him with four counts each of robbery and disguise with intent. He appeared in a court in Brampton that day.

He can’t be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call them at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3410, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
