Fire Marshal investigating massive east-end electronics store fire

By News Staff

The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating an east-end fire because of “excessive damage” caused by the blaze.

An electronics store on Warden Avenue, near St. Clair Avenue, was gutted in a three-alarm fire on Monday evening.

The fire broke out at a strip mall on just after 7:30 p.m.

Smoke was pouring out of the roof just before it collapsed and came crashing down.

No firefighters were inside at the time and no injuries were reported.

At one point, residents were asked to close their windows due to the heavy smoke.

There is no word on what caused the fire.

Warden was closed in both directions but reopened early Tuesday morning.
