Three GTA teens are facing numerous charges in connection to the robbing and kidnapping of a man on the street in Mississauga.

The three suspects have been charged with kidnapping, break-and-enter, forcible confinement, armed robbery and two counts of extortion by Toronto and Peel police.

A 17-year-old boy and Mithun Ratnakumar, 19, of Mississauga appeared in court on Thursday along with Thapisan Navaneethan, 19, of Markham, to face these charges.

A man was reportedly walking in the Mavis Road and Eglinton Avenue West area when he was accosted by three armed males on December 15, 2015.

Police report the man was forced into a vehicle, driven to his home and made to surrender his debit and credit cards, all before being driven to several ATM locations and forced to withdraw money.

The suspects also allegedly threatened the victim with expandable batons and a knife during the robbery.

The same three suspects were also charged along with a fourth man from Markham for robbing a man in his Scarborough home between November 30 and December 7 in 2015. Some of those charges include robbery with a weapon and disguise with intent.
