By News Staff

Halton police sprung into action quickly this afternoon after a baby got trapped in a vehicle in Milton.

Officers arrived on scene at Stonehaven Farm Market at approximately 3:45 p.m. after a mother accidentally locked her baby in a car.

A Milton staff sergeant tells CityNews the mother was initially waiting for CAA service to help her unlock the doors but officers made the decision to bust a window upon arrival.

The baby was reportedly crying and sweating for about 15 minutes before getting freed safe and sound.

No charges will be laid against the mother.

Regional police services are urging the public to remember to remember their pets’ and children’s safety, especially on hot days.
