Lost luggage is a relatively common problem at Pearson International Airport. But it’s not every day that suitcases rain down from the ceiling.
That’s what happened Thursday morning in Terminal 3’s baggage hall.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but photos from social media show the extent of the damage, with large chunks of the ceiling littering the floor.
Greater Toronto Airports Authority spokesperson Erin Kennedy says two suitcases crashed through the ceiling. The area has been taken out of service while a structural assessment takes place.
Kennedy says no one was in the immediate area when the bags crashed to the ground around 11 a.m.
