Five arrested in drug, gun and ammunition seizure in Brampton, Toronto

By News Staff

Three men and two women are under arrest after members of Peel Region’s Street Crime Gang Unit seized a quantity of drugs, ammunition and a handgun earlier this week.

Police executed search warrants at two locations, one on Webb Drive in Mississauga and one on Lakeshore Road West in Toronto. Investigators seized a quantity of drugs, including heroin, oxycodone and marijuana, as well as a 9 mm firearm, a magazine loaded with ammunition, and several additional rounds of ammunition.

Dennis Tanieve, 22, and Pamela Filochowski, 21 — both from Brampton — and Michael Jamal Bennett, 23, of Mississauga, all face a number of drug and weapons charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Lukasz Obrzut, 32, of Mississauga faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and breach probation while Jeanette Katarzyna Magiera, 41, of Mississauga faces a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Tanieve, Obrzut, Filochowski and Bennett have already appeared for a bail hearing in Brampton, while Magiera is scheduled to appear in court in August to answer to the charges.
