By News Staff

An educational assistant with the Toronto District School Board is facing sexual assault charges dating back more than 10 years.

It’s alleged that between September 2001 and June 2003, a woman sexually assaulted a male student during and after school hours.

The student was between the ages of 14 and 16 at the time.

Yolande Bernadette Byam, 47, of Peel Region has been charged with two counts each of sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

The woman worked at Bloor Collegiate Institute at the time of the alleged assaults. She is still employed by the TDSB.

Police are concerned that there may be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
