A five-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in downtown Toronto.
Paramedics said the child was struck at the intersection of Queen Street West and Jameson Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Toronto police believe a 39-year-old man was driving a Mercedes south on Jameson, as the child was with a family member on the west side of Jameson.
The child then ran across the road and was hit by the car.
Police said the driver remained on the scene.
The child is still in hospital.
There’s no word yet on charges.
Correction: It was initially reported that the boy was four years old.
