A 12-year-old girl is in hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Scarborough early Sunday evening.
Police say the girl was walking southbound on the east side of Pharmacy just after 6 p.m. when she reportedly ran across Danforth on a red light where she was struck by an oncoming car.
“The one that got hit, she was impatient, dancing away she was and not thinking, she just decides to dart out in front and the guy that hit her had no chance,” an eyewitness tells CityNews, adding that the force of the impact threw the girl 15 to 20 feet in the air. “One of her shoes landed 50 feet away.”
“It wasn’t good. It was a messy scene.”
The driver remained at the scene. No word if any charges will be laid at this point.
