SAN ANTONIO – The brother of Tejano star Emilio Navaira (nah-VY’-rah) says the Grammy winner may have suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after returning from a jog.

Raulito Navaira says the autopsy shows a coronary artery was “90 per cent clogged.”

Emilio Navaira was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive at his New Braunfels, Texas, home Monday. He was 53.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Raulito Navaira says his brother laid down on the couch after his run Monday. He says the singer’s family left the house and returned to find him not breathing.

Emilio was critically injured in a 2008 tour bus accident near Houston. His brother says “God gave him another chance” and that he’s grateful to have had eight more years with “the bright star of the family.”
