Loblaw stores reopen after computer problems

By News Staff

Loblaw stores have reopened after a computer outage caused cash registers to malfunction, a company official told 680 NEWS.

Customers still might experience slower-than-normal check out times.

The outage began after 9 a.m. on Thursday and was restored before 11 a.m.

Earlier on Thursday, the company’s customer service department told CityNews the problem affected stores in the chain, including Shopper’s Drug Mart, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, and others.

An official later said that the outage only ever impacted grocery stores.
