Daycare worker charged with child porn had worked at Brampton YMCA

By News Staff

A former Milton daycare worker facing dozens of charges of accessing and possessing child pornography previously worked at the Brampton YMCA, Peel Regional Police have confirmed.

Police say 37-year-old Steven Campbell worked at the Brampton YMCA for one year, five years ago, prior to being hired at the Milton Community Resource Centre, where he taught kids between the ages of two and four.

He was among 80 people arrested last month as part of a province-wide operation involving more than 25 police forces and charged with possessing and accessing child pornography.

Peel police said they have opened an investigation into Campbell’s tenure at the organization. They would not say what his job was; or if he left on his own accord or was fired.

On Thursday, Campbell was re-arrested and charged with eight counts of making child porn, eight counts of sexual interference and eight counts of sexual assault.
